SUMMARY:Zero-Emission passenger transport at European waterways
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of The Mission of Norway to the EU and the TrAM project partners\, we would like to invite you to our High-Level Seminar in Brussels on 10 May. \nHear leading EU stakeholders discuss the possibility of speeding up the green transition of seaborne passenger transport in Europe. \nHow can we make zero-emission passenger transport at sea the new norm and make it competitive in terms of cost and the environment? \nThrough advanced modular production\, the EU-funded TrAM project has constructed the world’s first zero-emission high-speed craft Medstraum. Today\, this groundbreaking vessel operates a public commuting route in Stavanger\, Norway\, transporting up to 147 passengers. After six months in operation\, what have we learnt? \nDuring the seminar\, you will meet EU representatives\, Norwegian Government representatives\, NGOs\, transport providers from European regions\, and the TrAM project frontrunners. \nLimited spots are available. To secure your spot\, please register via the link by 4 May. \nThe seminar is at Norway House\, Rue Archimède 17\, 1000 Bruxelles. \n  \nAgenda: Zero-Emission passenger transport at European waterways \nThe TrAM-seminar: Learnings from realizing the world’s first zero-emission high-speed passenger craft \n  \n12:30: Registration & lunch \n  \n13:00: The TrAM seminar: Zero-emission passenger transport at European waterways \n\nWelcome\n\nPer Strand Sjaastad\, Norwegian ambassador to Belgium and Deputy EU Delegation\n\n\nIntroduction to Medstraum – The TrAM ferrytale\n\nHåvard Tvedte\, Head of Public Affairs\, Maritime CleanTech\n\n\nThe Norwegian success: Public buyer’s role in realizing green passenger transport at sea\n\nVidar Ulriksen\, State Secretary Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Ocean Policy\n\n\nEU Keynote: Greener sea transport – the EU ambitions\n\nRicardo Batista\, Waterborne Policy Officer\, DG Move\, EU Commission\n\n\nHow to speed up the green transition of seaborne passenger transport on the European level – what are the barriers?\n\nLuisa Puccio\, Director Shipping & Trade Policy\, ECSA (European Community Shipowners’ Associations)\nFaïg Abbasov\, Programme director for shipping policy\, Transport and Environment\nRicardo Batista\, Waterborne Policy Officer\, DG Move\, EU Commission\n\n\nSupporting the projects for a European sustainable future\n\nAnna Karamigkou\, Project Officer Horizon Europe\, CINEA (European Climate\, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency)\nMaría Guillén Molina\, Policy Officer\, DG RTD\, EU Commission\n\n\nPublic transport on high speed at sea with zero emissions – the challenges and benefits\n\nEdith Nøkling\, CEO\, Kolumbus\n\n\nThe extraordinary results of Medstraum – realizing zero-emission public transport at sea\n\nTobias Seidenberg\, Senior Expert\, Fraunhofer IEM\nApostolos Papanikolaou\, professor\, National Technical University of Athens\nEdmund Tolo\, Head of R&D\, Fjellstrand yard\n\n\nSummary and conclusions\n\nAda Jakobsen\, CEO\, Maritime CleanTech\n\n\n\n  \n14:30: Networking \n\n\n\nMeet all TrAM partners and relevant stakeholders\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n \nThis project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 769303.
