Tech update: Maritime electrification - moving to scale

Part of Maritim Uke 2026 in Haugesund. This event will be held in Norwegian and requires registration.

From electric passenger vessels and hydrofoils to automated battery swapping and large-scale battery systems, maritime electrification is entering a new phase. In this 90-minute Tech Update, Maritime CleanTech brings together leading industry players to share experiences and insights from the development, operation and scaling of electric maritime solutions.

The programme covers practical experience from electric passenger services, the world's largest electric hydrofoil fleet, battery-swapping technology, and the growing use of batteries in larger vessel segments, including cruise ships. Participants will also gain insights into Norway's leading position in maritime battery technology and the increasing global demand for electric solutions at sea.
