Supporting alternative maritime fuel projects
Maritime CleanTech and European partners have launched SeaThrive to accelerate alternative fuel projects.
SeaThrive is a European collaboration designed to accelerate the development of alternative fuel projects in shipping. The project helps early-stage initiatives mature into investment-ready projects through targeted advisory support, training, workshops and matchmaking activities.
The project addresses key barriers related to financing, regulation and market readiness in the maritime energy transition. SeaThrive will support stakeholders with practical decision-making tools and financial analysis methods that improve understanding of CAPEX, OPEX, compliance costs and operational impacts linked to alternative fuel choices.
As part of the project, SeaThrive will organise more than 15 workshops across Europe, develop online training programmes and support project developers in moving ideas closer to implementation and funding opportunities. A digital “living lab” will also be established to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing across the European maritime sector.
