From Norway to the World: Green Maritime Reception

June 3 at 16:00 17:00

Discover Norway’s Green Maritime Edge
An evening with pioneering electric and zero-emission vessels

Electric vessels are no longer just concepts —they are already sailing the world, proving that decarbonized maritime transport is within reach. Norway has led the way in developing and implementing innovative maritime technology that drastically reduces emissions, and now it’s time to scale these solutions across Europe.

Join Team Norway for an evening of inspiration and insight as we spotlight how Norwegian maritime innovation is driving the global shift to greener shipping. While passenger vessels have taken the early lead, the technologies on display offer broad applications across the maritime sector. You’ll hear directly from industry leaders and innovators about how cutting-edge battery, propulsion, and autonomy solutions are transforming the way we move goods and people at sea.

What to expect:

Ada Jakobsen will officially open the event, launch a new strategic initiative, and invite industry partners to the stage, including representatives from Blue Maritime, Ocean Hyway and Innovation Norway.

Next, we explore how Norway’s strong public procurement policies have been instrumental in creating a green shift—highlighted by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Ocean Policy.

We then dive into real-world examples of zero-emission technology in action:

  • Havila Castor: CEO Bent Martini presents how this cruise vessel is leading the way in sustainable passenger experiences using cutting-edge technology.
  • Hull 096 by Incat Tasmania: Hans Petter Nesse, CEO of Wärtsilä, shares insights into a major battery breakthrough pushing the boundaries of vessel electrification.
  • Yara Birkeland: Marthe Therese Møller Solås from Yara Clean Ammonia presents the world’s first fully electric and autonomy-ready container ship—and what comes next.

The evening concludes with a networking reception at the Maritime CleanTech stand, featuring light refreshments before we head to the DNV BBQ.
