Welcoming Tjalve Svendsen as new project manager

Tjalve Svendsen brings over a decade of expertise in energy innovation and green maritime solutions to his new role at Maritime CleanTech.

With the new hire, Maritime CleanTech continues to strengthen its team as it accelerates the push for scaling up green maritime solutions.Svendsen’s career spans 11 years at Alma Clean Power and Clara Venture Labs/Prototech, where he worked on groundbreaking energy storage and fuel cell systems for maritime applications. He also holds an MSc in theoretical and energy physics from the University of Bergen.

Eager to launch innovative solutions

“I am extremely excited about joining the MCT team, having followed the organization for many years,” Svendsen said. “I’ve always been impressed with the role MCT plays to drive innovation within the sustainable shipping segment, working closely with its many highly competent member organizations, and being a strong voice to promote these technologies and solutions.”

He emphasized his eagerness to contribute to Maritime CleanTech’s large-scale demonstration projects involving Norwegian and European leaders in the maritime and energy industries.

Strengthened presence in Bergen

The hiring of Svendsen come as Maritime CleanTech expands its activities to develop and demonstrate climate-friendly solutions in close collaboration with partners in Norway and abroad. It also marks a strategic boost to Maritime CleanTech’s new Bergen office at Marineholmen.

CEO Ada Martine Jakobsen welcomes Tjalve Svendsen and highlights the leading competence.
