AIMPERES is developing an AI-powered energy management system that helps the existing maritime fleet reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

By combining emissions monitoring, digital twins, artificial intelligence and decision-support tools, the project enables shipowners and crews to make smarter operational decisions that improve efficiency and environmental performance.

Unlike many decarbonization initiatives focused on future vessel designs, AIMPERES addresses the urgent need to reduce emissions from ships already in operation. The project develops practical and scalable solutions that can be integrated with existing onboard systems, making it easier for shipowners to improve performance without major vessel modifications.

The technology is being validated across different vessel segments and operating environments to demonstrate how data-driven energy management can support decarbonization across the wider maritime industry.
