Maritime activities continue to play a key part in the energy industry’s transition. That’s why this year’s ONS has a dedicated focus on maritime actors, and Maritime CleanTech has set the agenda.

Every other year, the ONS event gathers about 60,000 people from over 90 countries in Stavanger. Behind it all is the ONS Foundation, a non-profit organization facilitating discussions and collaboration on energy, technology, and innovation. The goal is to bring together industry, authorities, and academia to build relationships and learn from each other.

Out of the Blue Comes Green

As a world-leading hub for clean maritime solutions, Maritime CleanTech was invited to set the scene for this year’s focus on maritime operations. Through conference debates, political panels, and seminars, we are bringing our partners to showcase the potential of the maritime industry to lead the industry’s charge toward a net-zero future.

“With the eyes of the entire energy industry upon us, this is a unique chance to strengthen the market case for green fuels. We will bring policymakers face to face with our partners and demonstrate both the feasibility and necessity of replacing fossil fuels with alternatives such as green hydrogen and green ammonia”, says Håvard Tvedte, Head of Public Affairs at Maritime CleanTech.

During ONS, Maritime CleanTech will host a series of events relevant to the energy industry, starting off with a political debate on the emission reduction requirements set for the offshore fleet. Here, we bring shipowners and fuel producers side by side with high-level Norwegian policymakers as we dive into the question of cost and investments for the segment.

Following the offshore-fleet debate, we will shift the focus to electric passenger vessels, with Medstraum as the prime example of high speed and zero-emissions going hand in hand. Together with partner and mobility provider in Stavanger, Kolumbus, we invite stakeholders from all over the world to experience green mobility in the Stavanger basin.

Our partners will also be part of the “Net Zero Markets” Conference Program. On August 28th, we take the stage with not one but three dedicated panels on green fuels and the establishment of new supply chains.

Partners such as Höegh Autoliners, Norled, Solstad Offshore, Eidesvik, Corvus Energy, Fortescue Future Industries, and more will be part of the program and the case for clean maritime solutions.
