When One Ocean Week returns to Bergen from 5–11 April 2025, Maritime CleanTech and our partners will be centre stage showcasing sustainable real-world solutions.
Maritime CleanTech will host and participate in a series of high-impact events – each designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen competence, and drive collaboration for a zero-emission future.

Bringing Ocean Leaders Together
On 8 April, the One Ocean Conference takes centre stage at Grieghallen. This flagship event gathers leaders from across ocean industries, research, and academia to explore opportunities for joint action.
As part of the program, Ada Jakobsen will host a conversation with a industry leaders and innovators about how maritime companies can succeed with green growth of their businesses.
Under the headline ”From Local Innovations to Global Business”, this “Ocean Talk” will feature the perspectives of EcoSubsea, Port of Bergen, Havila Kystruten and Sustainable Energy.

Future Fuels in Focus
On 9–10 April, Maritime CleanTech will host three events on crucial topics for the sustainable future of the maritime industry, from hydrogen solutions to shore power and ship recycling.
First, on Wednesday afternoon, 9 April, we have a seminar on Future Fuel Competence in the Maritime Industry, co-hosted with Ocean Hyway Cluster.
This session brings together industry leaders and academia to explore how competence development can keep pace with technological innovation. Join us at Maritime CleanTech’s Marineholmen office at 13.30–15.00.
Crafting and Powering Ships – Sustainably
On Thursday 10 April, we continue with two sessions on circular value chains and clean energy hubs:
Yardscore Workshop, Grieg-Gaarden, 09.00–11.00 – Part of the project “Circular value-chains for ships” by Grieg Green and Maritime CleanTech, this event invites you to help shape the future of shipbuilding with a focus on quality, circularity and transparency.
HAVlunsj: Bergen som energihub for grønn skipsfart, Havnerommet, 11.30–12.45 – We bring together key industry actors and politicians to discuss how Bergen can take the next steps toward enabling zero-emission maritime operations through shore power and charging.
This event will share insights from the project “Energy Hub for Ships”, where Maritime CleanTech have engaged partners including the Port of Bergen and Plug.

Clean Solutions for a Changing World
In addition to hosting our own events, Maritime CleanTech will participate in several highlight events hosted by other partner organisations including Innovation Norway and Bergen Chamber:
International Opportunities for Green Shipping at Grand Bergen, 9 April, 14.00–16.00 – With increasing demand for zero-emission vessels and infrastructure, the session will highlight export-ready technologies and international collaboration opportunities.
One Ocean Talks, aboard the iconic Statsraad Lehmkuhl, 10 April, 13.00–15.00 – Join a distinguished panel of international experts as they explore the future of global ocean science and innovation in light of shifting geopolitical landscapes and evolving collaboration frameworks.
We will also join the Reception onboard Havila Pollux on 8 April, 16.30–18.00, to welcome the visiting delegation form Seattle, including our partners Washington Maritime Blue. They will host the very first One Ocean Week Seattle in October 2025, when the One Ocean Expedition reaches northwestern USA.
About One Ocean Week
One Ocean Week takes place in Bergen, Norway in April each year. It features more than 150 events, stretching from conferences, summits and meetings to family experiences and cultural activities.
Organised by One Ocean Havbyen Bergen, One Ocean Week is officially endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade and supported by the City of Bergen and Vestland County Council.
One Ocean Week 2025 also marks the start of the One Ocean Expedition 2025–26. On 11 April, Statsraad Lehmkuhl will set out on a 12-month-long expedition around Europe and North America, before it arrives in Bergen again for One Ocean Week 2026.
