Eager to take your green solutions abroad? Maritime CleanTech has engaged Innovation Norway to carry out a vast study of the French, Italian and Spanish markets for electric and hybrid vessels. Join the workshop in Bergen to see just what opportunities exist for maritime technology that can help reduce emissions and decarbonize waterborne transport.     

All over Europe steps are being taken towards a more sustainable future. In France they have passed several laws committing them to a green transition. With the French Relance Program promising over 650 million euros for decarbonizing the maritime sector and a dedicated hydrogen strategy for ships and ferries, ambitions for the maritime sector are high. Also in Italy the emission targets are lining up with the Fit for 55 package, aiming for at least a 55 % reduction by 2030. The country is considered a major shipping and passenger hub, with a strategic position at the center of the Mediterranean Sea. With an annual turnover of around 6 billion euros from the nautical industry, shipping accounts for a large part of the national economy. Similarly, Spain is considered a maritime nation – with ports moving over 540 million tons annually, long, active coastlines and a new interest in offshore wind power, the sector is one of the most relevant for the Spanish economy.

In this workshop, Innovation Norway will present the results from a thorough market analysis focusing on the maritime sectors of each country. Along with the general market development, stakeholders, and infrastructure, the analysis provides insight to projects and tenders relevant to Norwegian companies.
