How big is the global market for clean maritime solutions?
April 22 at 13:00 – 14:30
The Norwegian maritime industry is by far the largest export industry in Norway after oil and gas, strongly driven by suppliers of equipment and technology.
Commissioned by Innovation Norway, Maritime CleanTech has mapped Norwegian exports of maritime climate technology and assessed the global market potential in collaboration with Menon Economics. This marks the first time such an analysis has been carried out, and the results are highly interesting.
Few of Norway’s established industries are already world-leading while also offering significant growth potential. In DNB’s report on future competitiveness, exports of climate technology from the maritime industry are highlighted as one of Norway’s major opportunities.
In 2025, maritime suppliers of technology, equipment and design exported a total of NOK 164 billion. How much of this can be attributed to climate technology? And what does the global market for climate technology in shipping look like?
How will these insights influence the government’s work on a new maritime strategy?
You will hear from, among others:
- Marianne Sivertsen Næss, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy (tba)
- Håkon Haugli, CEO of Innovation Norway
