The Flagships project is ready to launch the first demo vessel!

The partners behind the EU-funded Flagships project are happy to invite you to the official launch of Future Proof Shipping´s FPS Waal – a zero-emission inland cargo vessel running on hydrogen.

The ship launch will take place at Holland Shipyard Group´s Werkendam facility, just outside Rotterdam – where FPS Waal is undergoing her final preparations before being put into operation.

PRELIMINARY AGENDA:

The event will start at 10:00 on Thursday 8^th of February 2024. Transport from Rotterdam to Holland Shipyard Group, Werkendam, will be arranged.

10:00-12:00        Shiplaunch and guided tour

• Hear from shipowner Future Proof Shipping, and their CEO Richard Klatten, who´s proving that zero-emission shipping is not only possible – but achievable at a reasonable cost that is priceless for our planet. FPS Waal is their second hydrogen vessel IN
• Holland Shipyard Group is ready to share its experience after successfully retrofitting two inland cargo vessels from running on diesel to operating with zero emissions on compressed hydrogen.
• You will also hear from Clean Hydrogen Partnership and Maritime CleanTech on the implementation of hydrogen as a vital part of the maritime green transition.
• Guided tour of the FPS Waal.

• The groundbreaking Flagships project consists of 11 European partners – all collaborating to revolutionize the readiness of zero-emission waterborne transport. Several of the partners will present their key developments.
