Membership admission to NCE Maritime CleanTech is approved by the board. Companies interested in joining the cluster collaboration should fill out an online application form. New members are required to sign the provided membership agreement after admission. For more information, please get in touch.
Industry:
Companies seeking membership in the cluster must be willing to develop and commercialize solutions related to reducing environmental and climate emissions in the maritime sector and other maritime industries. The maritime sector is defined as: “All businesses that own, operate, design, build, supply equipment, or provide specialized services to all types of ships and other floating units” (source: Maritimt Forum). While the cluster primarily focuses on the maritime sector, it is closely integrated with the offshore sector, renewable energy, and the marine industry.
Norwegian Center of Expertise:
Maritime CleanTech is a Norwegian cluster with companies that are internationally leading in the development of environmentally friendly technology related to the maritime sector and related maritime industries. Member companies are expected to contribute expertise that enhances the cluster’s development.
“Five Stakeholders”:
Effective cluster dynamics require close collaboration among the private and public sectors, research and educational institutions, and finance and entrepreneurial environments. Research and development institutions that can contribute expertise within the cluster’s scope can be admitted as members. The public sector in the cluster is represented by county municipalities and public funding organizations. The fourth interest group is represented by banking and financial environments, venture and capital funds, and various investment groups, while the fifth interest group comprises incubators and innovation parks.
Competing Companies:
Companies that compete with existing cluster members are eligible to apply for membership. It is expected that these companies see opportunities for cooperation with competitors. This could include building competence and resource groups within the cluster, promoting the cluster, participating in joint research and development projects, and influencing the framework conditions for the cluster’s businesses.
Start-up Companies:
To apply for membership, companies must be registered with the Brønnøysund Register Centre. Newly established companies can apply for free membership in the cluster during their first operational year.
Core Values:
New members must adhere to the core values of Maritime CleanTech, which are engagement, innovation, trust, openness, and willingness to collaborate.
These criteria were last updated in a board meeting in February 2019.
