CEO at Maritime CleanTech, Hege Økland, and VP Global Sustainability in Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Roger Strevens shakes hands at the Maritime CleanTech stand during Nor-Shipping 2022.

The world-leading shipping giant is eager to innovate and implement new technologies to decarbonise their oceangoing activities.

– The decarbonisation of our fleet is the biggest single challenge – and opportunity – we have before us. It is far bigger than we are. Therefore, we believe the partnership with a broad range of stakeholders is of central importance to successfully navigate our way to a zero-emission future. The Maritime CleanTech cluster has a diversity of stakeholders and a sharp innovation focus that is fully consistent with reaching that objective, so we are excited about what we can achieve together, says VP Global Sustainability in Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Roger Strevens.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is a market leader in RoRo shipping and vehicle logistics. The shipowner-operators have over 130 vessels servicing all major global trades.

We are very happy to welcome Wallenius Wilhelmsen to the Maritime CleanTech cluster family. Decarbonising deep-sea shipping is possibly the greatest challenge ahead when it comes to reaching the IMO climate ambition. When two major ship owners want to take on this challenge together with our cluster partnership, we are well-positioned, says CEO of Maritime CleanTech, Hege Økland.
