Major ship owners, shipbuilders, ship operators, energy providers, and technology providers are gathering forces at this year’s Innovation Workshop. Together they will brainstorm green, future-proof solutions for maritime operations.
Amongst the participants, is Morten Sundt, Marine Manager at Equinor. He is looking forward to sharing their ambitions for reducing carbon emissions from operations.
– Chasing zero-emission shipping, we need to explore many options in collaboration with the maritime industry. I look forward to meeting and discussing the possibilities with the green maritime value cluster in Haugesund on 2 June, Sundt says. Together with CEO of Maritime CleanTech, Hege Økland and Director General of Navigation and Shipping at Norwegian Maritime Authority, Knut Arild Hareide, he’s among the speakers for the opening session.
– We look forward to gathering cluster partners from across the maritime value chain to define new strategic actions and innovation projects. This event is the place to be for companies seeking new opportunities and new partnerships, Hege Økland says.
– In recent years, these workshops have led to new breakthrough initiatives that have gained broad international attention and financial support from both national and EU funding schemes. One example is the ShipFC project, developing a large-scale ammonia fuel cell system, with funding from EU’s Clean Hydrogen Partnership, Økland adds.
This year’s workshop topics will be:
- Green marine operations for offshore wind
- Emission-free fjord travels
- Greener deep sea logistics
- Energy efficiency and retrofit solutions
