Maritime CleanTech is expanding for international growth and global impact. Recently eight new partners have joined the cluster collaboration, including the first Asian partner.
Representing over 150 partners from across the maritime value chain, Maritime CleanTech is an internationally leading cluster devoted to developing cleaner maritime solutions. Our strategy emphasizes the scale-up and export of new and energy-efficient innovations, to ensure a global impact when it comes to eliminating emissions from the maritime sector.
During SMM Hamburg, Maritime CleanTech also welcomed Japanese company BEMAC to the cluster collaboration.
Earlier this year, several companies from America joined the cluster, but BEMAC is the first cluster partner from Asia. The Japanese company accounts for half of the shipbuilding market in their home country.
– We are very happy to become members of Maritime CleanTech. A huge future demand for new, clean solutions is expected in the maritime industry in Japan. That is why it is so important for us to enhance the business cooperation between Japan and Europe. We want to learn more about the cutting-edge technology development in Europe and go forward with new innovations, says CEO & President of Bemac, Masato Oda.
– BEMAC is an exciting new addition to the cluster and can also act as a “door-opener” for other partners when approaching the Japanese market. It´s crucial for the development of an international market for cleaner technologies that we strengthen the focus on partnerships around the world. Japan is for sure a very interesting market for our cluster partners, says Håvard Tvedte, Head of Communications and Public Affairs in Maritime CleanTech.
