Norway’s Green Platform programme has opened a new call for large-scale collaborative innovation projects aimed at accelerating the green transition across industry. With its strong emphasis on cross-sector collaboration, value-chain impact and rapid scaling, the call is highly relevant for the maritime sector.
The Green Platform supports projects that bring together industry, research and public actors to develop and deploy green solutions with clear commercial potential. Funded projects are expected to move beyond early-stage development and demonstrate pathways to implementation, market uptake and measurable emissions reductions.
“Maritime CleanTech is ready to support companies and project consortia preparing applications. Our organisation can contribute with project development, partner matchmaking and broad experience from large collaborative projects, built through years of working across the full maritime value chain”, says Silje Sivertsen, Senior Project Developer in Maritime CleanTech.
The application deadline for the mandatory draft is Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 13:00.
Maritime CleanTechs Green Platform portfolio
Previous announcements from Green Platform has given results for Maritime CleanTech and its partners. One example is the GASS project, led by NAVTOR, which secured NOK 44 million in funding. The project applies artificial intelligence to optimise vessel and voyage performance, with the potential to reduce emissions by up to 20 percent while improving operational efficiency.
Another example is Ocean Charger, a project enabling offshore charging of battery-powered vessels. Supported through Green Platform funding, the project has progressed from research to successful testing and is now moving towards commercial deployment. Ocean Charger is expected to play an important role in scaling electrification in offshore and maritime operations.
Maritime CleanTech works closely with partners to identify strong project ideas at an early stage and build robust consortia aligned with funding requirements. This includes clarifying project scope, strengthening industrial relevance and ensuring a clear path to scaling and market adoption.
For maritime actors with ambitions to scale green solutions, the Green Platform represents a significant opportunity to turn innovation into real-world impact.
