Maritime CleanTech announces temporary changes in its leadership as CEO Ada Martine Jakobsen prepares to go on parental leave. From 27 November, Head of Market Development and External Relations, Håvard Tvedte, will assume the position of Interim CEO.

Jakobsen steps out after a year marked by significant activity across the organisation and its partner network. The Maritime CleanTech Board expresses full support for the transition and confidence in the organisation’s continued progress into 2026.

– Håvard Tvedte has been a key contributor to Maritime CleanTech’s strategy and growth since he joined us in 2016. We are confident that Tvedte and the forward-leaning administration will continue their dedicated work in growing value for our members in the ongoing transition, says Chair of the Board, Bjørn Sundland. He emphasises the strong organisational foundation and the experienced team that will maintain strategic momentum during Jakobsen’s leave.

Strengthening the Capacity

Maritime CleanTech is also strengthening its capacity. In January, the organisation will expand its teams in both Bergen and Stavanger. These new hires will further enhance support for partners, follow-up of strategic projects, and the development of robust value chains for a maritime industry ready for market solutions cutting emissions.

Despite a year shaped by geopolitical uncertainty and shifting global conditions, Maritime CleanTech and its partners have continued to advance technology solutions and demonstrate new low and zero-emission solutions in practice. The strong partnership remains committed to accelerating technology development, enabling market adoption, and shaping policies for maritime decarbonisation.

Jakobsen will return to her role as CEO after completing her parental leave.
