Tech Update: Enabling Ammonia Bunkering
Norway is entering a pivotal phase in the development of clean maritime fuels. Through Enova’s dedicated support scheme, the country is now preparing to transition from individual pilot projects to an initial network of operational ammonia bunkering sites. The first funded projects are expected to be announced in December 2025.
At the same time, international activity is accelerating. ITOCHU has placed an order for what is anticipated to become the world’s first purpose-built ammonia bunkering vessel, scheduled for delivery in 2027 and to be flagged in Singapore. This signals a clear shift from concept to global deployment.
This seminar will bring together leading voices from industry, regulation, and safety to strengthen shared understanding of the infrastructure, operational frameworks, and risk management needed to enable safe and commercially viable ammonia bunkering.
Participants who wish to arrange one-to-one meetings with ITOCHU, or who are interested in discussing potential projects and funding opportunities with Maritime CleanTech’s EU and funding specialists, are invited to contact us. Meetings may be scheduled before or after the main programme.
Full agenda to be announced.
