In February four new companies were accepted as partners in NCE Maritime CleanTech. The cluster now encompasses in total 112 members from the complete maritime value chain, the energy sector, financial institution and research- and educational institution. We are happy to welcome: Hy2gen, Siem Offshore, Smart Automation and Wilhelmsen.
Hy2gen
Hy2gen represent a group of companies and individuals that aim to establish green hydrogen productions at strategic locations worldwide where the market potential is big, such as in Norway. The founding members’ expertise lies in business development, marketing, technology and operation for hydrogen and renewable energy projects.
Through the company’s participation in NCE Maritime CleanTech Hy2gen wants to cooperate with other partners on developing better technical and commercial solutions, particularly for production of green hydrogen. Hy2gen already cooperates with companies in the cluster such as Norled. In February this year the company also signed a partnership agreement with cluster partner Greenstat to join efforts to produce and deploy 100 percent carbon-free green hydrogen in the Norwegian market. The partnership has a goal of a minimum of 100MW installed electrolyzer capacity by 2025.
Siem Offshore
Siem Offshore Inc. serves the global oil and gas industry with a modern, environmentally friendly and technically advanced fleet.
The fleet consists of 35 vessels including large Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels, Platform Supply Vessels, Multipurpose field & ROV Support Vessel and Offshore Subsea Construction Vessels designed to meet the most challenging environments. The latest addition to the fleet is 2 Well-Intervention Vessels. The company is currently retrofitting existing vessels with batteries and is also involved in various development projects with partners such as SINTEF, Plug and Bergen harbor.
Through the participation in the cluster Siem wants to take part in innovation projects and cooperation on energy efficiency measures and technologies for new green fuels.
Siem Offshore operates from Norway (Kristiansand), and has offices in Brazil, Ghana, Canada and Australia.
Smart Automation
On January 1 parts of the operations of cluster partner Blueday Technology AS was transferred to the new company Smart Automation AS. The aim of the company is to develop smart automation solutions in which energy management plays a vital part. Through partnership with other companies Smart Automation will also offer complete hybrid and electrical solutions for the maritime market.
The company’s employees have good experience from participating in cluster activities and they are involved in cluster activities related to cruise and fish farming. To the cluster Smart Automation brings extensive knowledge and experience within automation systems.
Wilhelmsen
The Wilhelmsen group operates the largest maritime network on the planet, with over 2 200 locations in more than 70 countries worldwide. The company delivers market-leading products and services to over half of the world’s merchant fleet, in addition to owning and operating a fleet of vessels.
In addition, Wilhelmsen is exploring new opportunities within renewable energy, alternative fuels, offshore and technology industries. Alongside NCE Maritime CleanTech the company is also part of the Pilot-E consortium led by BKK, Air Liquide and Equinor that aims to create a complete value chain for liquid hydrogen in Norway.
