Piloting New Solutions: Carbon Capture and Storage
7th December 2023 at 08:00–10:30
Event Navigation
The maritime industry is challenged by expectations to decarbonize in line with or ahead of the IMO requirements. To reach 1.5°C, leading regions and sectors must decarbonize faster – reaching net zero before 2050.
New solutions and pilots are needed. Facts and insights are crucial in this process.
Agenda:
- How may Maritime Cleantech enable and foster development programs for energy-efficient and sustainable technologies?
- CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) as key measure to reach climate ambitions – status today and tomorrow – can it fly?
- The first newbuilding ordering of large CO2 carriers are ongoing. Liquid CO2 imposes new risks and challenges to ship design
- Sustainability, but also availability of tomorrow’s fuel will be essential for the maritime industry; Can onboard carbon capture be an alternative?
- Solvang pilot for onboard carbon capture – not just “Power Point engineering”
